Spotlight on Daniel Higginbotham’s Summer Job

19 06 2010

Daniel Higgnibotham is a rising senior in Elon’s Design and Production Program.  The following is short passage he wrote about his summer internship with Cirque Du Soliel’s production of Love in Las Vegas, NV.  To learn more about Daniel go to http://danielhigginbotham.wordpress.com.

My internship with Cirque du Soleil has been going great! Currently I am working as a show carpenter for The Beatles Love. I have been training to do one of the tracks for the past week and should be doing it by myself within the next few days.  After they feel I have a good hold on this track, they are going to let me shadow the other departments (Rigging, Costumes, Stage management, etc).  This show has blown my mind in so many ways. Words cannot begin to describe how excited I am to be apart of it.

An internship like this is an amazing opportunity. Not only does it give you insight to the CdS world, but their program allows you to discover your strengths and weaknesses. They encourage you to challenge yourself and be the best of the best as Cirque itself, is essentially one of the best entertainment corporations in the world.
